I have an extra WiFi router. I would like to add it to my network to increase my WiFi coverage in my living room. Will this work and where do I start?

Not sure what you have, but Linksys works in 1 of 4 modes.

Access Point Mode (Default)
Wireless Repeater Mode
Access Point Client Mode
Wireless Bridge Mode.

Set it to Wireless Repeater Mode and it will just "repeat" the signal of your first Access Point. To set it to Wireless Repeater Mode, you will need to know the MAC address of your first Access Point that you want to "repeat".

Not sure what options other vendors offer, but it's probably similar.

Well thanks, Crash, was pondering doing this, and was figuring I would have to screw around with DD-WRT, and just wasn't feeling like messing with it, especially since it's the kids in the basement who need it:) but since that old router is a Linkysys, maybe I'll do that.

I have a belkin with a westell as the primary. I will have to look up the owners manual to see what settings it has.:allies:
