Does anyone know of any openings in the administrative field? A relative was laid off recently and needs to find work. If you know of any openings, please pm and I can send you her resume.

Southern MD is the best location but right now, she is not picky. She has an interview today with a place in Annapolis.

Do you know what company in Annapolis she is interviewing with? I am also looking for another job in the park, or Dahlgren - No luck so far though.

I wouldn't.

Any job is better then no job as long as you have money coming in. The best time to find a new job is when you already have one.

I'd collect unemployment before I'd work for BAE.

I know unemployment isn't a whole lot but, that is my option until I find a job after the end of October if we don't win the contract protest.

I'm hiring for an administrative assistant in my department. The only catch is they have called the position temporary since it's inception.

so you'd rather live off of other people's money than take an available job just because you don't like the company. sounds fair to me :ohwell:

Almost reminds me of some BM's who crank out the kids and live off the CS payments.

It's not other people's money. The company she works for pays into unemployment insurance. They have to. That's where the money comes from when you've been released from employment due to no fault of your own. This affords one the opportunity to look for a good job as opposed to taking the first thing that has a paycheck, no matter how bad the job sucks.
