The only objection I have to having "free" cats and kittens is they are sometimes used for bait and or fed to snakes or not treated well. "Some" cat hating people on these forums might think that's great...
I am a cat lover to the core.

I agree. I wouldn't pass on an ad for free kittens if it was just an individual person doing it - but I hope that the shelters still screen folks, and I would hope that the shelter process would be long and involved enough to deter those that would want a cat for nefarious reasons.
