AFLAC is a joke (IMO)! Does anyone have any suggestions for other providers that offer STD and additional benefits (cancer, accident, etc)?
I had AFLAC & fell when I was pregnant. I ended up getting paid some $ (I want to say it was like a total of $250 or so) I dropped it a few months later though.
I am pretty sure the Hartford Co has accident and cancer insurance.

well crap, you might as well post it here.
Old thread bump.
Two success stories with Aflac:
1- wife and I had a son on 8/1, our check was here on 8/26. Zero hassle!
1a- wife went back in hospital 4 days after our son was born, paid in full on that as well, including things we didn't even know we qualified for such as $1K for an ambulance ride.
2- friend was in hospital for about 5 weeks, paid in full for things they didn't even know they qualified for.
I guess it all comes down to your agent. Our agent Kevin is AWESOME!!!!

Can you afford to go without your income if some thing happened to you?
No- then you need it. Think of it as insurance on your income.
