Cheney looks to continue opposition to Trump after losing primary by more than 30 points

Immediately following her loss to Harriet Hageman in Wyoming's Republican primary, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., unveiled her next move, launching a new organization with the primary goal of keeping former President Trump from regaining the presidency.

The group, called The Great Task, gets its name from a phrase in the Gettysburg Address, and Cheney invoked President Lincoln in calling for the Republican Party to go back to its roots.

"We’ve to get this party back to the principles and values on which it was founded," Cheney said in an interview with NBC's "Today Show" Wednesday morning, claiming that it has lost its way in focusing too much on Trump and his "cult of personality."

Yeah, because after your own state told you to take a ####ing hike, they'll want you for the WH. :roflmao: :killingme :roflmao: :killingme :roflmao:

Well, slavery is no longer a thing so that removes a huge plank from the original Rep platform. I wonder what's left?

Nolte: MoneyBags Liz Cheney’s Only Future Is at Disgraced CNN

Watching outgoing (tee hee) Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) compare herself to Ulysses S. Grant was really something. Watching her compare herself to Abraham Lincoln is now (at least so far) my favorite part of the 2022 election season.

The self-regard! The hubris! The self-love!

More like, the self-delusion.

With narcissistic sociopaths like Liz Cheney, you never know if they truly believe what they say or whether they are just saying what they’re required to remain in good standing with the Mika-Joe-Jake-Anderson-Wolf-Rachel morons.

You better tote that barge, girl. You better lift that bale.

She certainly would never win a Republican Primary, she might have a chance as a democrat if she changed parties, because the democrats have nothing left but Hillary, but Hillary would eat her alive.

Perhaps she is in to humiliation. It appears she loved being humiliated by Wyoming voters.

Well, invoking the whole "2nd coming of the Great Emancipator" worked well for the Won, so why not? She should hedge her bets, though, by announcing she's coming out as a trans man. Or something.

I mean, she doesn't have enough melanin content; none of the idiots on the left is ready, willing, or able to define a biological woman; she's pretty sleazy, even for a Demonrat, so the gender thing is pretty much the only thing she has left.

Then again, if Tulsi runs again, she'll bitch-slap Sleaze right on out of the primaries, which means Sleaze could be the next Veep. She would still need to use the gender identity card to even have a chance, though. Nobody's gonna believe she got her start in politics using knee pads; not after all this time.

If I was on her team, I'd advise her to commit a low-level felony. At most, she'd get credit for time served, and her street cred would skyrocket, since the left ❤️ them some criminals. Punching a cop during a mostly peaceful protest should do it.

Producers Confirm Liz Cheney Will Not Be Back For Season 2 Of January 6 Hearings

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After a critically acclaimed first season that was allegedly watched by some people, the producers of the January 6th Hearings have sadly confirmed that their star Liz Cheney will not be returning for season 2.

"Liz was a standout in season 1 and we're sad to see her go," said fellow actor and screenwriter for the show Adam Schiff. "We will carry on without her, however, as there are many more exciting storylines we have planned for next year!"

I think the reason she invoked Lincoln - despite somehow her missing the obvious ego of it - Lincoln lost a lot before he became President.

On the other hand, while he struggled to win office in politics, I can't find any evidence of him being REMOVED from office. He did not run for re-election in Congress, because the then Whig Party recommended single terms for its candidates. He didn't make it to Senate his first time, because back then, it wasn't a vote by the people.

I can't find any repudiation of him once his career advanced - unless you count John Wilkes Booth.

She got trounced in WYOMING - and was calling for DEMOCRATS to cross over and vote for her. I read an article the other day that concluded - it's possible a sizable amount did, which means she was voted down by EVEN MORE Wyoming Republicans. They didn't want her.

Trump loyalty - or not - you can't go on record assailing the party's leader - and then expect the party to nominate you to REPRESENT them. I mean, just TRY to think of any organization - any company - that would nominate someone who's gone on record as criticizing the head of the organization.

I like how Gutfeld put it, when people grumble about Cheney's 'brave stand' for "democracy" - "you got VOTED OUT BY THE PEOPLE - THAT is 'democracy',

And if every single registered Democrats (all 36,403 of them) in Wyoming voted for her she still would have lost.
I wonder how she's going to feel after her usefulness wears off and her "new friends" tell her to get ######. :lmao:

And every damn Confederate...which was STILL half the damn Country
I hope you realize, I was being funny - lots of people hated Lincoln, but he was never voted OUT of office once vote IN.

Cheney - who got her entire career by latching on her father's coattails - is trying to make the case that, yeah, well, LINCOLN got a few setbacks too.

No, not as many as you think, unless you take that meme floating around the Internet saying how often he lost, which isn't 100% true.

Sure, she can have the audacity to compare herself to great people that failed - but lots of people who were NOT great failed as well.
This was a HUGE repudiation by Wyoming voters - they either love Trump - or they don't like HER - or a little of both (which is my opinion).
Either way, when you send someone to Washington as a nominee for YOUR PARTY, don't expect any favors if you spend your time TRASHING the party and soliciting help from the party's opposition.
