The attorney general praised the work of the Jan. 6 Committee

Attorney General Merrick Garland did not rule out the possibility of prosecuting former President Trump for the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

Garland sat down with "NBC Nightly News" host Lester Holt for an exclusive interview, to discuss the ongoing federal investigation into the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol that day.

Asked if indicting a former president would create further division in the country, Garland said the U.S. Justice Department will pursue justice "without fear or favor."

"We intend to hold everyone, anyone who was criminally responsible for the events surrounding Jan. 6, for any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another, accountable, that's what we do," he said.

That would be the correct answer for anyone in his position.. you can't rule out anyone from prosecution, ever. That's like telling enemies that if they invade a country we won't do anything, so go ahead..

The Democrats have already been told they can do anything they like.
Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton ,Bill Clinton, they know they are untouchable.

I do car about it, but not in the way these Democrats are playin gotcha at it.
I would like to know why Trumps advice about the National Guard and the military was not bTaken.
I would like to know why Milley refused to take orders from Trump before Biden was Inaugurated.
I would like to know why Pelosi waited to call for help .
And I would like to know how a Lieutenant in the Capitol police shot and killed a woman and didn't even get a reprimand. Meanwhile another woman beaten to death by another Capitol police.

That's about as succinct an answer as any I could come up with. No one is interested in watching the clown circus at all, if anyone did at all.

The left has had their chance - they rushed through a SECOND impeachment, which served no purpose at all (since an impeachment is an indictment against a federal official for the purposes of removal from office - and he was leaving office) - and THAT should have settled it. The problem of course with impeaching is, it's a charge, it's not a verdict. He wasn't found guilty and so he left office.

No, they had to get to the bottom of it. Ok, fine. Let's cross examine the witnesses and let those being testified against confront them and make their own case. Ummm - nope, we're not doing that. It's not a courtroom.

Uhh - well it kind of is. What it looks like from where I sit is a long fishing expedition to find SOMETHING to pin on Trump so he can be barred from running for office.

And I'd answer - why don't you let the voters choose? All this bellyaching about freedom and democracy - something wrong with just letting the chips fall where they may? Is it so horrible they might choose otherwise?

Don't you guys insist that Biden won, fair and square? Is it so horrible that he couldn't possibly beat him again? I can't see it from their point of view, I just can't.
