AirTran airfare rate change

I'm online (AirTran) checking out flights. If I want to book 1 flight, the cost is $72 each way. If I change the settings to 4 people (which I actually need), the price increases to $86 each way. Why is this?

could be part of the hidden charges they add at the end for like the gas for the plane and stuff like that (not exactly sure myself just a wild guess)

It appears to be a 20% tip charge for groups of 2 or more.....like restaurants do.

Just a guess, but perhaps it's the price of getting the same row of seats which would amount to $3.50 per person? :shrug:

Nope, that's not it. I fly w/AirTran a lot (but have never noticed the price change). Usually when I book 4 tickets at the same time we end up scattered.

I guess buy them separately. Kind of a pain though.
