I'm so excited! Last night was the AKC Canine Good Citizenship evaluation for the obedience class I'm enrolled in. I was the first to go with my dog and we were the only ones to PASS!!! Other dogs came close, but failed one or two components. I'm so proud of him

Congratulations Patrick!!! When Cody took the CGC test, he failed supervised separation. I don't think he'll ever pass that one...

Thanks We had to redo approaching another dog and handler, but he will struggle with that for a while. Its hard to practice when people want to pet the "cute, fluffy dog" no matter his behavior, lol!

The class is located in Fredericksburg, VA through the White Oak Animal Hospital. It takes me an 1hr and 15 min to get there, so it makes for a long evening. The trainer, Paula Thomas, is starting her next 7-week CGC course on March 12, 2008.

I drive to VA because I'm enrolled in the Animal Behavior College dog trainer certification program to become a professional dog trainer. I have to participate in three courses: one with my dog, one to audit and one to train. I will help Paula teach this next CGC course beginning March 12th.
