That would explain the sudden upgrade of my son's computer, which I did not schedule. It also explains why some of his legacy hardware no longer works, because Windows 10 doesn't seem to think computers are going to have any.

My husband's laptop automatically upgraded last weekend. We had to restore Windows 8 but it keeps asking when we'd like Windows 10 to download. I wish there was a way to completely block the upgrade all together.

There is. Searching "stop windows 10 update notification" will produce several methods.

I chose the 'remove the KB3035583 update' method. Remove KB3035583, turn off AutoUpdate, check for updates, hide the KB3035583 update. The downside is AutoUpdate must remain off or KB3035583 will be back.

Yes, it got so annoying about the Windows 10 upgrade, so I finally gave in and did it. Then I was told my computer didn't have enough memory to do it. It is still asking me to upgrade. I have a HP pavilion tablet/laptop. I don't require a lot. I just like to view a few sites, and that's it. You would think they would know my computer is not capable to upload Windows 10. I, actually, had to send my puter back to HP 3 weeks ago because the audio went out; it was still under warranty so no charge. You would think the computer world would get it. Oh well.

Husband turned on his computer yesterday and it had already down-loaded so he just left it.
