Highest powered rifle I have is my 24" rifled barrel 12 gauge Mossberg when I fire 3" magnum, .50 caliber slug sabot rounds.

One will kill a person easily at 200- 600 meters, your saboted slug will not. Its done at 150 meters.
You are not as good a marksman as I.
I used to compete in 1000 yard, iron sight shoots with my ..45-70.
Then again, I can switch to .30-06, .308 or .303.

I am still lucky the long range still is sharp at 64,
I wear glasses for 25 and 50 yd bullseye pistol.
This is a Browning 1885 BPCR Creedmoor in 45-90, wearing sights from Montana Vintage Arms and a Hadley adj aperture eye piece and a bubble with changable insert front sight..
The rear vernier will give me easy 1,200 yd elevation.
.I love irons but so many disciplines have
gone to scopes that even with High Power I will buy a 4 power Trijicon so hopefully I can still be competitive next year.
If you want to shoot irons with HP ypu shoot the vintage matches.

Some sabots will be reasonable at 200,
personally im not sure it would be a ethical fair chase for me at 200. Centerfire rifle, hell yes.
My son has done well with a rifled 1187 and the heavy? Lightfields. But I dont think he would take a shot with a sabot at 200.

Incredible kill power but when both that and CF are both legal I'll stick with the 06 or 44. They all do their jobs well.
I mostly practice at self protection distances these days.
I stopped hunting at the end of 2007 when I fell off a 15' ladder and had hairline fractures in my two lowest vertebrae.
