when do you guys think would be the best time to hit the stores to avoid massive crowds. obviously black friday and any weekend is out. what are the stores normally like during the day at this time of year. I need to get some christmas/post maternity clothes shopping done but I don't want to take the piglet out in any big crowds. especially not for the first trip!

I would say the during the weekdays is ok for the most part. At least it will be the best you can get. Have fun!

Don't forget Hot Deals

Update on Black Friday 2005 Sales: Last year, without any announcement whatsoever, some stores put most of their Black Friday sales on their websites, each starting between 12am and 7am EST. The following stores put their Black Friday sales on their websites last year:

* Staples
* Kohls
* Circuit City
* Best Buy
* CompUSA
* Radio Shack
* Tweeter

I believe some (if not all) of these sites may do the same thing again this year. If you are interested in any of the Black Friday 2005 items, I strongly suggest logging in immediately after 12am EST to see if those deals are available online. If they're not available at 12am EST, try waiting until 1am EST. If they will be having their items for sale online, they will most likely do it by 1am EST.

You may be able to get a lot of holiday shopping done before you go to sleep on Thanksgiving evening, unless the Turkey puts you to sleep beforehand.
