That is sad. What kills me is if their religion says that they aren't supposed to touch dogs, then why do the students have a problem with the dog being there. It is a service dog and shouldn't be touched anyway.

The school should be thankful the student teacher isn't filing a formal complaint with the ADA.

They should be educating the students on the rights service animals have, not allowing them to taunt and jibe the animal.

No they shouldn't. They should tell them to shut the #### up and educate them on math, science, language, etc. How many days is this :bs: going to take out of the normally schedule year?

All it takes is a simple hour or two assembly. Having worked with service animals and having one of my own in the past, I know how hard it can be when people don't understand the law. It doesn't take much to teach the kids what the law states and, heaven forbid, the world might be a little better for it.

I am familiar with two situations....

where a family has so tramatized their child to be afraid of dogs that the kids go nuclear if they walk into a house with a dog.

This is pathetic: it is intentionally creating a phobia that will warp them for life. I have been bit twice in my life...does that make me psycho around dogs? NO,...it makes me perceptive to try to read their temper.

When oddballs attach the title of "Unclean" to Man's best friend...this creates all sorts of difficulties in America where...say 1 out of 4 own dogs? Can I pet my dog & shake your hand? Oh, wait, it always has to be the right hand too because the left is unclean. You can't come in my house because I own a dog? You run from the beach when Scooby Do is chasing a frisbee?
Might I recommend you never try to strike a police dog that is ordered to sniff through your luggage or your car?

ridiculous.
