One huge problem is that those we elect, once elected, are completely, intentionally, purposefully, cut off from, and absolutely avoid any discourse with the public. I'm not talking about those two minute time allotments when say at a commissioners meeting during the middle of the work day by those that can attend and where it is only a one way conversation. I'm referring to honest get-together-to-hash-things-things-out Town Hall, questions and answers, open to all who want to speak and/or share grievances, meetings. Also not referring those annual events such as the legislator roundups put on and hosted by business interests.

And why don't they? They do not want to be held accountable. They only want to work in the shadow of public light. And because they fear the people.
