It almost looks like a training video from the 1940s.

Almost all of these guys are black, in the 80’s almost every MS was Filipino. I think I preferred those days because every meal had lumpia.

Culinary Specialist has a very low qualification level. Not insinuating anything just saying.... In the 70's-80's Filipinos were limited to certain rates.....

In the '80s in the USCG, CS (or SS as it was called then) was one of two rates that one could serve in without being a US citizen.

Ya have to wonder why that is? Perhaps from backyard BBQing with their families? /not a jibe/ Though it is interesting that very few white folks become Navy cooks. In the Army, it appears the opposite is true where there are more white cooks. At least when I was in.
