Alumni Jayson Williams '03 and Matt Newcomer '05 of Maryland Strategic Consulting and Mayson-Dixon Properties & Development, have helped to deliver millions of units of masks, protective gear, wipes, and other supplies to hospitals, senior living facilities, nursing homes and government facilities in the United States.
The two alumni were able to look at their network of connections through the supply side of the Mayson-Dixon Properties & Development firm — which typically supplies construction materials — to temporarily move to supplying critical gear for essential workers on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s inspiring to see so many of us pulling together and lending a helping hand to those in need,” Newcomer said.
The two alums plan to continue to help provide for organizations in need when possible.
“With everything going on right now we believe that this is the most important thing we can be doing to make a difference, Williams said.
Williams discusses the company’s shift from construction materials to critical supplies in this video from M&T Bank.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland is proud of our alumni who are on the front lines or finding ways to support those who are during these uncertain times. The College would love to share these stories with the community. If you have a story to share or an alum you know has a story to share, please fill out the COVID-19 Alumni Impact Story Collection Form.
