This big boy needs a home asap...long story short - the landlord says the dog goes or the owner gets evicted...he's 9 mo old...obviously not neutered but will be. Some info from his owner, says he's an American Bulldog:
He's housebroken, goes to the door & barks when to go out & come in.
Crate trained, definitely an inside dog. He gets along great with all other dogs, I have a English Springer Spaniel and they love each other, along with my 9 year old Son. He loves to jump in your lap, thinks he is a lap dog!!
Love to play with other dogs because he is only 9 months old, so much still a puppy but just huge!! Loves "Everybody"!! Has not shown any food/toy aggression at all. Don't know how he is w/ cats, he hasn't seen one.

If you know of anyone that can help by fostering or adopting this big beautiful boy, pls let me know asap. Thanks!

C'mon...Smile!
I wasn't saying anyone was lying about the dog for pete's sake I was simply commenting that it looked similiar to a boxer and if you look at boxer picture you will see the resemblence.

:jameo: :bawl: Well...if we or the owner can't find him a home or a place, he'll be a dead dog soon...

:whistle:Unix is out of town now....think he'll notice a third dog when he gets back? Maybe we can convince him he's been there all along.

Seriously...really hope he can be saved.

theres always a way.

If you cant find a home for the dog, take him to the HUMANE SOCIETY (NOT the Tri County Shelter on 231) in Calvert County. They are a no kill shelter and will place him with a rescue group that will let him live in a foster home until a real home is found.

Supposedly this woman has called every rescue agency around, and they are all full. It doesn't surprise me at all, I receive phone calls DAILY about owner give ups for various reasons, stray dogs that need a home, foreclosures are really putting a hurt on people w/ animals, some can't afford their pets in these economic times, etc...It doesn't surprise me that almost every rescue is full.
I'll call her today to see if she did contact Calvert Humane. Today is his last day...he's got to go or she gets evicted. I did receive 2 pm's from other folks on the forum, maybe something will work out w/ one of them. Keeping my fingers crossed for his sake...Thanks for the suggestion though.

They'd like you to think that.

Finally got in touch w/ his owner...they found him a good home w/ a trainer that lives locally, they'll be able to keep tabs on him. He went to the new place last nite, and she called this morning - so far he's doing great. (granted, it was only one nite...keeping my fingers crossed it works out and is a great home).
Thanks for the pm's and well wishes for the big boy.

So...I had some other calls too - about a puggle (Ernie), a basset hound (Boomer), a husky/chow mix (no pics yet), a siberian husky (no pics yet), a hound (Ginger), and a doxie mix (Gretchan). If anyone's interested in one of those, shoot me a note...some of their pics are up on Second Hope Rescue.
