Revelation 2:18 “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:
These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. 19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.
20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
24 Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, 25 except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
26 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’[b]—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. 29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I don't get the last few verses.... so.... I got this from the easy English site.
The Lord uses the name Jezebel for this wicked woman in Thyatira too. This woman was probably very clever. She was able to convince people that she was right. She said that she had special knowledge from God. She taught the Christians to live as the people in Thyatira did. She said that it was right to join the trade unions. This meant that Christians would join the worship of the false gods. They would eat meals in the temples. They would even think that it was not wrong to have sex with different partners.
In some way, the Lord had shown Jezebel that she was wrong. What she was doing was evil. She knew it. The Lord had been kind to her. He had warned her and he had given her time to change. He desired her to repent of all the wicked things that she had done. But she would not repent.
We do not know what the morning star means. But this is a description of Jesus. He is like the bright morning star. The Lord will be with those who overcome.

Who calls herself a prophetess: This “Jezebel” at the church of Thyatira wasn’t really a prophetess, she only claimed to be one. Yet, it seems the Christians there received her as a prophetess, and that is why Jesus gave them this warning.
Jesus said this would happen in Matthew 24:11: Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Those words were first spoken with a view to the end times, but there have always been those who call themselves prophets in the church, but are not.
This morning I am worried. Am I a Jezebel? Do I need to repent? Am I buying false witness as the Gospel? Have I gone to the dark side?
Y'all know me.... I'm the anti-abortionist who was called out in a County Commissioner's race. I'm the one who spewed hate at the local and national PTA because two gay men were teaching at a local elementary school. I'm the pious big mouth holier than thou Bible thumping old woman who was so sure she was right.... she was willing to say so in public.
And now.... I have to say.... Considering the current climate.... I was wrong. I have to care about the woman who was so distraught that she would take a chance on eternal damnation, or death, and she would do anything to rid herself of this pregnancy. I'm the one who now has to care about her life as well as the child's life. If we don't allow abortions to proceed in open clinics.... will more women die as well as the babies they are carrying? Am I a Jezebel for considering the value of the woman's life as well as the life of the child? Have I become a Jezebel?
What about my feelings on homosexuality? I don't see them the same either! I use to think they were "sick" or "satan's pawns". I use to think they would prey on our children... turning them into gay gargoyles [hey the whole idea makes no sense now]. Recently I've seen those same words I use to spew and it turns my stomach. I am now of the opinion that if God didn't want to allow those two gay men to teach.... He wouldn't have allowed Ham to get on the Ark.
God knew that Noah had three sons.... one of which would make some kind of comment to Noah while Noah was naked... that would become the first "homosexual" event after Sodom..... but He left Ham on the boat. That means.... even the homosexuals are welcome in Heaven if they Believe. Does this make me a Jezebel? Have I gone to the dark side?
I've heard this chapter being used against trade unions. The trade unions of today... in my opinion.... are different than those in the past. In the days of John.... you couldn't work if you didn't join the union. Once you joined the union... it was a way of life... men worked together, ate together... and yep they spent a lot of time together.... so women were tempting too. The men who joined the trade unions.... got hungry and stopped turning down the food... even though it had been a sacrifice to one of the Roman gods. The men who joined the trade unions.... got lonely and stopped turning their gaze away from the women. They got lonely.... and they turned to adultery.
Today.... when a man finishes his work... he goes home... we have cars and cell phone and internet..... trade union workers are no longer stuck on the job. They go to work and go home. It's different.... am I a Jezebel for thinking the Infrastructure projects coming up [which will surely use trade unions and federal wages] are a good thing and preaching against a trade union [of today] is ignorant?
I see homosexuality as "Just Is". I see abortions as horrible actions that must be allowed in order to show love for the woman as well as the child. I see trade unions as a good way for an honest man to make an honest living.
I think differently than I did twenty five years ago..... Am I a Jezebel?
