I like how the "breeder" feels the need to break the above down. Like people cannot figure how simple subtraction works.

Ok....this brings a question to mind....

I was told that Mastiffs are "territorial" by nature....is this true?

The reason why I ask is because a friend of my 20 yr olds girlfriend tried to pet one that was in a vehicle with it's owner and she got the bottom half of her face ripped practically ripped off....this girl did not pose a threat to the dog or the owner....the dog just snapped and went after her

Too bad he didn't growl first, but he was protecting his owner and car. He didn't know she wasn't a threat.

My neighbor's have two dogs and one is a Mastiff mix. He's sweet and I can go up to the fence and play with him w/out any problem.

Any animal can turn on you. My Chihuahua will snap at me sometimes if I try to put him in his kennel.

I don't consider that "snapped." Most dogs (large and small) are often not the friendliest when you approach them in a car. Did the girl lean into the car? I'd think if anything, the dog would have biten her hand first.

What kind of Mastiff was it? There a different types and they have different personality traits.

Nope....according to the owner and the girl he attacked, he didn't growl at all....he had his head in the owners lap and the owner was petting him while talking to this girl.....she(the girl) pet him for a minute and then he just lunged at her

She went thru 13 surgeries so far and she has quite a few more to go before she is almost back to her originial self

:yeahthat: I don't like Neopolitans at all. I've never been bitten or attacked but the presence of the ones I've seen and the growling/barking is VERY intimidating. :jameo: One of the only breeds that genuinely frightens me.

:nono: NEVER EVER pet a dog sitting in a car unless its yours, friend's cute lil Bischon will take your hand off if you try.

I'm sorry that happened to her.

I went to Daleys seafood last weekend with my pups. The owners son came out to see my bad toddlers. He reached in to pet Sasha and she nipped his hand. He tried again and she showed teeth. She has never done this.

So the other day I was at the package place in Wildewood and this lady came over to the car and petted Sasha with no problems. Go figure!
