Amazon Prime Day

...hasn't been so great for me, so far.

Now, I *love* having Amazon Prime. It happens *very* often I need some small item, and it's great to order it for a few bucks knowing I won't be paying the SAME amount over, just to *ship* it.
You know what I mean - you need a cable, or a charger - it runs about 9 bucks - and shipping is almost that much, and you figure, what's the point? Amazon Prime takes that away.

But today, I don't know if they're just swamped, but I can't order anything. If it even makes it to checkout - it won't let me go any further.
If I reach the page for promotion codes, it says they've expired - and it sends me to a page *TELLING* me, what's the matter with you, don't you know this offer expires -- TWELVE HOURS *from* now?

Then I go to the Wash Po, and yep, Amazon is having problems - but it says, no problem, they're all fixed. Even when the comments say - uh - no they're not.

Last year, Prime Day was a waste because they only discounted CRAP. This year, they just can't handle the volume.

There's gotta be a trick to this.

Amazon Prime Day is like Black Friday for me: sales on a bunch of stuff I'm not interested in buying. I know somebody must be giving laptops and big screen TVs as Christmas presents, but I have never given nor received one. And so it is with Amazon Prime Day.

I had no issue other than forgetting to checkout twice before the deals ended. My sons missed out on a few $19.99 PS4 games, but they did get two $9.99 microfiber sheet sets and the 7 DVD Fast and Furious collection ($21.99, I think). I had to pry myself off of the damn site. There were some damn good deals today. I clicked on 70% or more and felt myself throb. I've never been one for retail therapy but those deals made me understand it! :lmao:

Black Friday HAS been useful for us, but then we were buying the kind of things they were selling. One year, we got Fire tablets for all the kids on a Black Friday deal.
Last year, we replaced two of our TVs with deals we got then - we finally dumped the rear projection TV the kids had and got them a Smart TV with Netflix and other stuff on it already. The other took some work - I had to trace down one of the (VERY MANY) cables in the house to put a smaller Smart TV in my wife's craft room.

And we got a new artificial tree on a Black Friday deal. So - yeah. Sometimes it helps us.

Right now, I am trying to buy a Fire TV stick - all day long - and it won't put it in my cart. Three different computers and a cell phone app - still won't do it.
I keep watching the percent of deals claimed going up, while *I* can't seem to buy it.

And of course, it's welshing on the promotional code that it keeps telling me will work until midnight.
So if it weren't for Prime already, I'd dump Amazon - that kind of service shouldn't be rewarded with continued patronage, but there you have it.

I had a problem trying to put some Plantar Fasciitis relieving socks in my cart so I said F it.

Sure is...get off your lazy ass and go support your LOCAL businesses...you know the ones that reinvest back into your LOCAL community.

I do Amazon Smile and choose which charity that a portion of my purchases goes towards.

Well, we bought a Fire TV stick and console. Amazon is the only place (mostly) that you can get it.
My last several purchases were to buy spare parts for items that weren't in local stores.
Or computer cables that are only sold locally at Best Buy - for twice as much. Local investment my ass.

Do you ever open your mouth for anything other than to switch feet?
