The American Red Cross is supporting St. Mary’s County residents affected by Tropical Storm Isaias by distributing free cleanup kits Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Wednesday, Aug. 12 from the College of Southern Maryland’s (CSM) Leonardtown Campus parking lot. Each cleanup kit includes a bucket, mop, push brooms, scrub brush, sponge, squeegee, hard surface cleaning solution, trash bags, work, Nitrile gloves, a tarp and face masks.
Those who come for supplies will be asked to drive up to the distribution location, pop open their trunk and stay in their car. A volunteer will directly put the supplies in the vehicle. If a trunk is not available, supplies will be left by the car and the driver, or a passenger, can load the supplies into the vehicle when directed by a Red Cross volunteer. Each vehicle will receive one cleanup kit.
All American Red Cross assistance is provided for free. There is no verification of need, address or identification required. Only homeowners who have experienced damage should pick up kits. Cleanup kits will be available while supplies last.
