America's leaders display an 'F-you attitude'

TULSI GABBARD: There is so much devastation and incredible suffering that’s going on in Ukraine right now. The world needs to condemn Putin for his actions. The thing here is that our leaders really have this F-you attitude and they just don’t care. We see this F-you attitude in our domestic policy here at home where they say F-you to parents who are concerned about what their kids are being taught in their schools. F-you to Americans who want to make their own decisions as it relates to their health and COVID. Then you see this same attitude and mindset also extending to their decisions on our foreign policy. Basically going in and saying, "you know what? This is what we’re going to do and there is nothing that anybody can do about it. There is nothing anybody can do to stop us." And all of this just points to the fact that they just don’t care.

She is right. Nobody cares. We have an invasion at our Southern border, and as Americans complain Biden says F you. We have a fuel problem and Biden say F you. We have an inflation and what does Psaki and Biden say? F you. The Democrats are slated to take a bath in the next election and they are doubling down on their BS. F you.

I'm like Grumpy; I really, really like her. I even donated to her campaign (there was no fix to get rid of her, right?).

I just hate that she has been so inculcated (college word, Vrai) into the uber liberal ideology that comes from having been born and raised in arguably the most uber-liberal (i.e. leftist) state in the union. Gee, that sounds like a former President, doesn't it. Except unlike him, Gabbard really does love her country; not some leftist utopian vision of what she should be.

I can't help but feel that Tulsi is only saying what will get her on the talk shows and give her some print. When Trump did that big Independence Day celebration on the Mall a few years ago, Tulsi posted on her Twitter some unhinged screed about using our military as a show of force against the American people, just like NK, blah blah blah. When I saw that tweet that I was like, "THERE she is...."

I wish I'd saved a screenshot - it was really something.

She's right - our politicians do indeed display a F-you attitude, but I suspect Tulsi longs to be one of them.

To implant by repeated statement or admonition; teach persistently and earnestly.

I kind of vaguely remember that. I put it down to her upbringing (and the fact that it was Trump), but you could be right. You often are.

Her programming is such that it's a near certainty she's not going to cross to the other side of the aisle, so yeah, if that's not her, it soon would be.

The other thing is that military service doesn't predict that once they get into public office that they'll do the right thing. John McCain, John Kerry, John Murtha (hmm...noticing a pattern here) and Tammy Duckworth all demonstrate that just because they have military service, that doesn't follow that they have the best interests of their constituents or the American people in mind. Of course, they could be so deluded that they are convinced they do.

Stop thinking of, and referring to them, as "Leaders" and you'll have taken a step toward fixing that attitude.

They are suppose to represent citizens, not lead them.

GOD I wish I could have t-shirts made up with that quote and force everyone to wear it.

"Oh, how DARE you disparage a veteran!!! :drama:"

Benedict Arnold was a veteran.
Lee Harvey Oswald - veteran.
Jeffrey Dahmer - veteran.
David Berkowitz
Sammy the Bull Gravano
Nidal Hassan (the guy who shot up Ft. Hood)
Dennis Rader

The list goes on and on. Tulsi doesn't get anointed just because she served in the military. No one does.

Once upon a time, it was a badge of honor for a politician to have served in the military. At one point, and I looked this up, something like 10% of Congress had worn the uniform of this country, either on active duty or in the reserves. The list of Hollywood stars who had served was really impressive.

Now, not so much.

I think it still is a badge of honor but it's not a path to sainthood, nor is every service member above reproach. Hell, anyone who served will tell you that - there are all kinds of psychopaths and idiots who join the military. But I still believe most of them are men and women of honor, it's just that you can't look at this terrible person and the terrible things they've done, and excuse it because they served.
