.....on the lock screen. I keep hitting it by accident. I'd like to remove it, but how?

Lol, you keep calling 911?
Yes. They are very understanding. From what I'm reading online, some phone systems require an emergency button on the lock screen.

Guess that includes mine.

And I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

Hit it more than once while out west driving thru a snowstorm. Felt really stupid about bothering them. Thought I had trained myself to be more careful, but hit it last night while setting it on the charger.

Any HELPFUL suggestions?

Thanks, I looked at a site similar to that, it wasn't helpful, and nothing here is available either.

Guess I just need to be more careful.

Oh, yes, once I unlock the phone it's gone. When I turned lock off in the setting, it was still on the home screen.

Okay, I'm a little confused. If your phone is set to not lock the device why would it need to be unlocked?

My SO had a phone case that closed over the screen. A magnetic lock held it shut. It was easy to open and use but the screen and the 911 button were covered when not in use. This prevented a lot of screen scratches too. Like you said, "some phone systems require an emergency button on the lock screen". That may be a legal issue and the phone store won't turn it off for you. So just be careful or get a case/phone that covers that button.

Just sneakin' around....
I'd like to get one for Mommy Dearest. I've seen her with my tablet. Her and touch screens are not a good combination.
My dad was so impressed with how we got quick info on our smartphones, he really wanted one. I gave him a tablet to play with and it totally frustrated him. There was just no way he could handle a phone.
