Don't put any pressure on the knife. Just use a sawing action and let the weight of the knife move through the cake. Or as GW said, rip chunks of it.I did and it still smushed up

I bought some angel food cake yesterday, strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream. I took a piece of fishing line, not off the reel, but new off the spool. Washed it in really hot water, dried it in a paper towel, then used it to cut the cake, sounds strange but it worked perfectly.
that's a cool idea. Bet dental floss would do the trick also.
Speaking of Angel Food cake, a friend sent this recipe:
Angel Food Box Mix 1-20oz. can of crushed pineapple with juice.
Mix two together then bake in 9x13 pan about 25 minutes at 325.
I haven't tried it yet.
