ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Plans to take $1 million of state funds from the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home(CHVH) budget sparked debate in the Maryland House of Delegates. Some delegates argued that veterans deserved better while others said the facility will actually get more money in the long run.
District 29A Delegate, Matt Morgan[R-St. Mary's], expressed dismay at the changes. He pointed out that the facility is the only veterans home in the entire state. It offers a 126-bed assisted living program and a 318-bed skilled nursing program.

Does it really surprise anyone that Democrats want to defund our veterans programs?
...and the way they are doing it is criminal. Just because they got some Fed funds they think it is ok to remove State funds. Its like your boss cutting your pay because you got a stimulus check.
Also, the Delegate pushing this the hardest is from Baltimore.
I still can't find out how Crosby voted..

If it is like other votes, the Dems had enough votes to pass it without Crosby's vote. He was given permission to vote against it.

I forgot to post this....Thank you Matt Morgan for driving this through.

Charlotte Hall VA gets their one million back. I feel so sorry for Baltimore..

From Matt Morgan's Facebook page....

Two weeks ago, I reported that the BRFA contained one concerning committee amendment, removing a million dollars from the Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home. Charlotte Hall Veterans home is the only Veterans home for elderly and disabled veterans in Maryland. I highlighted this concern by speaking out against it on the House floor, which resulted in many constituent emails, Facebook posts, and news media outlets to cover the story. Today, I am proud to say the money has been returned, and I reconfirmed this on the House Floor. It pays to speak up, and in this case, it paid a million dollars to the Veterans Home. Thank you all for helping me correct this.
