Press Release: U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland
U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett today sentenced Glenn Ranger, age 56, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, to 40 years in federal prison, followed by 40 years of supervised release, for two counts of production of child pornography in connection with his sexual abuse of a young boy. At today’s sentencing hearing, the government also presented evidence to the Court that Ranger sexually abused a young girl in the 1990’s, beginning when the girl was approximately 5 years old. Judge Bennett found that Ranger sexually abused the minor girl and took that into consideration in imposing the sentence. Judge Bennett ordered that upon his release from prison, Ranger must register as a sex offender in the places where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student, under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
