Summer!!!!
I ran across this the other day. You might want to take a xanax or have a drink before you watch it.

OMG! 5 days with no power -- sitting in the living room keeping the fireplace going so the pipes wouldn't freeze, all bundled up in layers of clothes & blankets; the smell of kerosene from the lanterns; the into music to the radio broadcast ("from the top of Radio Hill") that made me eventually want to toss the radio right out the window; the sounds of the "crack, whoosh, thump" of the tree limbs falling every time we opened the outside door making our neighborhood sound like a combat zone; the longing for even warm water to take a shower with instead of cold; the crazy neighbor cussing out the BG& E crew chief who was doing everything he could to get our power lines back up & running (and the sheer exhaustion/frustration on that BG&E's guy's face when he told us that every time they got it back up another tree fell and took it out again); the resulting vestiges of post-traumatic stress disorder every time I saw a BG & E truck for at least the next year....

I remember! I remember it all too well!

I'd rather have SMOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
