Reportedly upon impact, the U.S. Navy vehicle was exceeding over 100 mph.

:yikes:

Just sneakin' around....
If that was the speed, the Nissan would be in worst shap.
I'm conflicted about the speed thing. I'd think there would be a LOT more damage to the police vehicle. It looks like a 50-60mph front-end hit, didn't collapse beyond the firewall (which it's supposed to do anyway). But the distance the Nissan got pushed implies a lot more inertia than 50-60mph.

Ya think??
Story updated again:

NAS Patuxent River PIO released the following: “Initial reports are that the NAS Pax River Police SUV, traveling back to Pax River from Webster Outlying Field, was making a left turn after a full stop from Mattapany onto Three Notch Road’s northbound lane when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

From the looks of the wreckage, I highly doubt this.

IMO, cop going south at about 55, Nissan tries to pull out and beat cop with it to the floor. He loss. The accelerating vehicle with the kick to the ass took awhile to stop.
