I give the lady credit for attempting to find the dog a decent home...

Yea, but why get rid of the dog??

It seems to me she's telling her brat, "it's ok to be a lazy lieing brat, mommy will just get rid of the dog so you can go about your little life asking for things and then changing your mind to later ask for something else"

I don't see it that way at all unless the mother lets the brat get another pet after finding a home for this one... there is no doubt in my mind that the little brat is going to cry her eyes out when her beloved lab goes byebye and then this will be a life-lesson learned. the dog is only a year old. The dog will be better off in a home where it is wanted.

It's much better than what I see all the time - child abandoning the dog, and mom and dad sticking it on a chain or cage outside and neglecting it. If I had room for it at my house, I'd take it - but I already have two.

I agree with Kwilly and the rest. We've all seen this one before - "Please, Mommy, please can we have a dog?? I promise I'll take care of it, walk it twice a day, feed it and play with it! Please, Mommy?"

So Mommy gives in and gets a dog, Jr. doesn't hold up his/her end of the bargain and there you go. I think it's great that this Mom is trying to find a good home for the dog instead of shuttling it off to the pound or neglecting it.
