Another Dog!!

Well, the neighbors behind us are at it again. They had to get rid of the little brown dog they had because it was getting loose and running all over the neighborhood, they wouldnt let it in the house because it wasnt fully potty trained, they then proceeded to get of all things...a Rottie. Left the dog chained up outside, alone most of the time, very little socialization, dog barking night and day. The Rottie got loose one of the many times they were not home, I called animal control when that happened because I was afraid the poor thing was gonna be hit or shot by someone. When they came home THE FOLLOWING DAY, mind you, the wife went to the animal shelter, got the dog and then came to my door and accused me of being a racist because I called animal control. Two weeks later, the Rottie is gone. Now they have a pitbull puppy!! Again, its chained up in the yard, little to no socialization, puppy barking day and night. Why these people keep getting dogs and not taking care of them is beyond me. So, hubby is going to talk to them today and ask if they can at least bring the puppy in at night so it does bark all night.

Wow! What is happening to the dogs they keep replacing, and what is the point of having a dog to just leave it chained up, and unloved? Annnnd, how did you keep from punching your neighbor's lights out when they came to your door?

I really dont know. One day, they're there, the next, they're gone. I can only hope they are going to good, loving homes. Well she had her daughter with her and I didnt want to make a scene. I told her No, I'm not a racist, I just happen to love dogs.

I can see having a Dog on a chain to go potty, that is if you are getting ready for work, or something. What is the sense in having a dog if it's constantly on a chain.? Unsocialized dogs become aggressive at some point. I feel so bad for the puppy, and these people shouldn't have dogs...period.

I have no problem with chaining (cable) a dog in the front yard. But here is how that goes, I do this for mine, He wants outside, he goes on the chain. He wants in, he come back off the chain. That is the only proper use of a chain. IMO.

My big dog goes on a cable in the morning to potty. He never stays out longer than 5 minutes.

I walk him in the evenings when I get home.

I wish that were the case. My husband works nights so he's home during the day, he said the dog is chained all day, he's not sure if they are home or not, sometimes yes, sometimes no. When I get home at 6 - 6:15, the dog is on the chain, he barks constantly, no one comes out of the house to check on him or make sure he is okay. He finally stops around 10- 10:30 pm. I dont know if they bring him in at that time or he just wears his self out. However, when I get up at 5:45 AM, he is on the chain. There back yard backs right against our privacy fence. You cant help but hear and see anything that goes on in the yard. I dont want you all to think I've nothing better to do then spy on the neighbors. lol:howdy:

well if there pitbull puppy gets loose and attacks your dog guess what they will get slapped with a fine of 250.00 and pay your dogs vet bills (give them to the animal warden for them to give to the neighbor and if they don't pay them you can take them to court if u want to) or they might take the dog if they see the history at that house with the animal warden being out for loose dogs.

Before our crappy neighbors got foreclosed on they had 3 dogs that were always giving us grief. A pit bull, a great Dane and American Eskimo. The only one that was friendly was the pit bull, funny because it goes against every thing you hear about the breeds.

I think I would make sure the puppy "get loose" while they are not home one day. Dogs are pack animals. I can't think of anything more cruel than making a dog live a life in solitary confinement.

People like this really irritate me and I think they need to be chained outside by themselves!!!! They have no business having a dog or any other kind of animal.......You did the right thing by calling animal control.
