Another jackass helping screw up the world

Bought a new Fram Ultra Synthetic filter at Walmart last night. This is supposed to be one of the best. Went to open it this morning and the first thing I noticed was that the small tape seal on the flap was already cut. Pulled it out and voila. Some jackass pulled the old switcheroo on Walmart and me.

They swap the products in the boxes, then pay for the cheap box which has the expensive filter in it. Saw a video on Youtube a few weeks ago where a guy bought a Milwaukee Nitro drill in Home Depot. Got to his truck and opened it up and discovered it was the cheap non-Nitro version. Walked right back in the store and they refused to make it right, essentially accusing him of pulling the switcheroo. Like the guy said, who would think to check that the product in the box is actually what it is supposed to be.

This will cost me more in gas to return it than the jackass saved by switching it. I'm certainly not putting the bargain basement Fram filter on my car. I guess everything now needs to be sealed in shrink wrap plastic.

I would definitely take it back the next time I was going there, but like you said, not worth the gas to do it as the sole reason. I guess I'll now be opening boxes in the store from now on.

That sucks.

People that pull these shenanigans think they are getting 1 over on the man. When it's their fellow man that pays the price for their *******ry.

I always look to make sure the package is sealed. Back when I was coloring my hair there were several times that I bought a box of hair color and got it home to find the package had been opened and one or more components was missing. It's just a habit, especially with groceries - check the packaging and the expiration date.

I wasn’t aware there were such a thing as a synthetic oil filter.

Never realized the old ones were organic.

My ex was expecting chestnut brown and got fire engine red once. It all worked out though because she had the temperament of a red head.
