Another kitty behavior issue

I sometimes travel for short periods of time and leave my cat in the house unattended for a couple days. Evertime I do, she vomits all over the house. Makes me wonder it she's doing it to get back at me for leaving or she does it because she's stressed out and afraid when I'm gone.

I know what you said, but does she do that kind of thing ONLY when you leave her alone for longer than a work day?

I guess my question is, do you find "presents" when you get home from a full day's work, or does she only do this when you leave her alone for more than one day? Do you notice if she has eaten an excessive amount of food while you were gone? She may be eating out of boredome b/c you are not there to pay attention to her; or she may be; excessively over-grooming herself out of boredom while you're away; resulting in "hairballs."

Does either one of these hypotheses fit? Try putting fish oil on her food if she eats dry food. That might help, if she will eat it.

TMI time.....
My cat has that vomiting problem if she is shedding and swallows a lot of fur; compounded with the over-eating out of boredom. I had to cut down on her food because she ballooned to 12 or 13 lbs.. She is a 'lady of leisure'; not very active cuz I try to keep her indoors b/c of the fleas so she doesn't get to rip-n-run outside or eat grass; which helps them expel the fur they swallow. (See my note about the fish oil)

Don't know that I have helped, but I know I have probably bored you to death.

My cat normally only vomits during the summer after she's been outside grazing and even then, her puke is like one big explosion. When I'm gone however, she leaves little puddles of puke all over the place. Go figure.

If you think it is anxiety over your being gone, you could try some rescue remedy in her water. It is natural and won't knock her out or anything like that. It will just make her less anxious.
Is there anyone that could come to your home and play with her or sit and pet her while you are gone?
What about getting her a companion?

I'm gonna look into rescue remedy. Never heard of it before.

A long time ago I left and had someone come in to feed her and play with her. That was worse. She sprayed in one of the rooms most likely because of a territory thing brought on by the stranger coming in the house. It's the only time she's ever sprayed inside. She's not a team player at all.

Don't know where you live but we carry RR at the store. Many people asked for it and swear by it. Some health food stores may have it as well.

Please get her checked. I thought that too and my kitty has a mass in his stomach
