Another night another protest....(like the Doobie Brothers song "another Park."..)

I thought they had created their own police force a couple of years ago. Didn't know they changed their minds.

Ah, the sweet smell of anarchy.

Let them live in a lawless place for a week.

Except that it is students generally in danger, FROM residents. They want it BECAUSE of crime.

I'm at Hopkins about 5 or 6 times a month, sometimes overnight. I sure wouldn't want to walk those streets every evening.

I was surprised the first time I went to Johns Hopkins. What a shithole.

You'd think Bmore would have more pride and yet they seem to be in a competition with other Democrat cities to see how low they can go.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a hospital - IN THE CITY, any city - where the surrounding area isn't crap. Children's in Philly is ok.
Maybe Mass General, which is pretty square in the Beacon Hill area.

But all of the other major medical facilities in the Longwood Medical Area - Children's, Brigham and Women's - one of the worst areas in Boston.
Suburban in DC, Children's - they're awful. You gotta go out to Bethesda.

The ones that are NICE - are when the people who design the hospital decide to place it all by itself away from everything, instead of square in the city. Shady Grove, near Rockville. Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Heck, EVEN abroad, I noticed this.

You know, normally, I'd think that part of the problem with keeping a large city from looking like crap has to do with not having a rich enough BASE to tax. Cities like NYC have huge sections which are quite nice - at least, Manhattan. Because the tax base is - rich.

But too many cities always look like hell - Philly, Chicago, DC - and there's no reason.

Baltimore, like many largest cities in any state - gets to siphon state money for themselves. Seen this everywhere. So it ain't money.
