I can't stand either trait. I'd like to see Katie go to CBS since I don't watch it anyway and have Ann take her spot.

Katie Couric is the "ideal" choice to replace Rather. She decides what the answer she wants is then finds "facts" to get the answer. I remember way back when she was on channel 4 doing report on singles and AIDS when AIDS was new. She wanted to say that people joined religious singles clubs, such as Catholic Alumni Club of Washinton, to avoid AIDS. She filmed at one of our monthly dances and could not get any club officer or committee head to say they joined to avoid AIDS, but found a visitor who would say so, put her on camera and made it look like that was the norm of the club membership. The club started in the 1940's nothing to do with AIDS, but she got her story.

Point two: when US and coalition forces invade Iraq, she said on Today Show that she hoped Sadaam Husein escaped to Syria.

Fred, thanks for the information about the singles club. Katie can't even pretend to be a real journalist anymore. She implied that two actors getting a divorce was more important than the violent death of 150,000 people. Sounds to me as if she's gone Hollywood.
