Wait a sec; I thought the astronaut w/flag thing was a tribute to the crew that lost their lives in the shuttle disaster?
Still, a little tacky, all the same.
KidRock? What can you say? Little by little, we, as a society are being subjected to this kind of BS.
As time goes by, "we get used to it", and sometime down the road, (yeah, I'm on my soapbox - again), we're going to wonder how all this $#it happened. Where did it all start?
Face it, for a lot of people - nothing much bothers them anymore, what they - or their kids see on TV. They've already
gotten inured to it.

I'm not for lawsuits, but I sure wish someone would drop a big one on CBS, MTV, or even the performers.
I was wondering if this was going to become an FCC issue.Originally posted by Danzig

Six months from now, is anybody going to remember this episode of Timberlake/Jackson/MTV/CBS and the lies they're giving us?Originally posted by vraiblonde

Entertainers have been doing these kinds of publicity stunts for what seems like eons to me.
It's just getting tackier and tackier, as the years go by.
And don't give me this crap that young teens aren't affected by what they see on the tube.
The first thing they want to do is emulate their favorite stars in public: for mine and your benefit !
Take a look at the newest teen fashions; the next thing that'll be HOT will be Janet Jackson's halftime outfit. (nipple star will be optional)

Y'all can I love Kid Rock. I think his intentions were good with the flag thing. The vast majority of people aren't taught appropriate displaying of old glory.
All of his work with the USO and the money he's donated to the families who lost someone on the USS Cole more than makes up for that faux pas IMHO.
WOW! I just saw a news segment on MSNBC where two poeple were interviewed on last night's Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake antic, and the woman, Bridget Klein, from Celebrity Entertainment, thought it was COOL!Originally posted by citysherry
I totally agree with you Penn. There's no dignity left. Janet and Justin should be ashamed - why not rely on talent, why must it always be shock?
What do you suppose the chance of "full frontal" at the Grammy Awards would be? I wasn't planning on watching it but maybe now I will. Maybe the Olympics will have "penetration" during their opening ceremonies, being European and all.Originally posted by vraiblonde
You just don't expect that sort of thing in the Super Bowl. Our older girls were like, "Yeah, like anyone wants to see Janet Jackson's 40 year old boobs " But the 12 year old was scandalized. And the young boy that was there with us was pretty shocked. It was uncomfortable but all the parents there just played it off - "Well, THAT was rude" and "I hope you girls never grow up to be the kind of women that flash your boobs at a Super Bowl crowd."
As parents, you're supposed to be able to choose what your kids are exposed to. That's why mine weren't allowed to watch MTV or BET until they were a LOT older. Now they've got flashing boobs during the Super Bowl, where you don't expect it. So now they've taken "if you don't like it, turn it off" to a whole new level.
