Anti-Vick List

Here's the semi-official PFT list of teams who have stated unequivocally that they have no interest in Falcons quarterback Mike Vick.

Atlanta Falcons. (We know it kind of goes without saying.)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (The Bucs have been silent since Vick was reinstated; they previously have said they aren't interested.)
Detroit Lions. (Pre-reinstatement.)
New York Jets. (Pre-reinstatement and last week.)
New York Giants. (Recently.)
San Francisco 49ers. (Pre-reinstatement and post-reinstatement.)
St. Louis Rams. (Pre-reinstatement, and possibly post-reinstatement.)
Dallas Cowboys. (Pre-reinstatement and recently.)
Washington Redskins. (Pre-reinstatement and recently.)
Houston Texans. (Pre-reinstatement.)
Indianapolis Colts. (Pre-reinstatement.)
Seattle Seahawks. (Pre-reinstatement.)
Buffalo Bills. (Post-reinstatement.)
Cincinnati Bengals. (Post-reinstatement.)
Miami Dolphins. (Post-reinstatement.)
Kansas City Chiefs. (Pre-reinstatement and post-reinstatement.)
Philadelphia Eagles. (Post-reinstatement.)

No way. They got their golden boy Flacco.
Hmm...might make sense. They don't have an average QB as a plausible backup. Plus they could put in a few wrinkles for Vick to throw the Steelers off. The Ravens have a good team but they always seem one or two plays behind the Steelers.

I hope every week the opposing team plays "Who Let the Dogs Out" on the loudspeakers when he comes on the field. I really dislike this guy.

I used to think someone would pick him up. Now that the time is here, it seems the idea of being associated with Vick is not such a good idea after all.

Consider. There is the obvious negativity that simply will be there. Then, what about reform or contrition? Vick doesn't exactly exude either. His demeanor ain't helping.

Then, what is the flip side? Winning? Tom Brady went down in game one and the Pats won 11 games. Peyton Manning has exactly one Superbowl win. Roethlisberger's team wins as a team. Does anyone think Vick is the missing link to get them a Superbowl?

Further, what if he gets hurt? Everything that goes into deciding to give him a chance blows up with one knee ligament and then what? An idle Mike Vick?
Would he be a Pac Man, a time bomb? I mean, how much effort has the guy put out to seek forgiveness?

I'm going to be surprised if anyone picks him up before the season starts.

Intersting thoughts;

The Fabulous Sports Blog

It’s really simple: While I think Stallworth’s legal punishment was entirely too lenient; from a personal or moral standpoint, I can see how someone can make that mistake. His actions were not premeditated. His goal that evening wasn’t to kill someone. He had too much to drink and got behind the wheel. I understand how that can happen to an otherwise good person. That is a mistake. It’s a terrible mistake that had tremendous consequences, but it was a mistake nonetheless.

Electrocuting a dog is not a mistake. Slamming a dog to the pavement over and over until it dies is not a mistake. Stringing a dog up on a rope and hanging it is not a mistake. These are premeditated acts of cruelty. I don’t think that otherwise good people can get “caught up” in this kind of behavior. If you are capable of engaging in these activities, then you are the kind of person that I can never understand. The kind of person for whom I have no empathy.
