Antifa Went To Protest Fascists. They Targeted The Wrong Group — And Threatened To Kill Me.

As soon as I walked near the street corner where Antifa had amassed with signs and megaphones, I was accosted by two individuals with guns. (Washington is an open carry state.) Holding semi-automatic rifles and wearing badges against racism and fascism, they told me I wasn’t welcome. I continued forward with an officer’s assistance. The protesters did not have a permit to close the sidewalk.

A group of tall men working informally as Antifa security then formed a physical barrier around me. "Nazi fascists out!" they shouted while pushing me.

Working as a freelance journalist covering Antifa activities primarily in Portland, this was my first time documenting a demonstration in Seattle. I was naive to think that I would be left alone in the unfamiliar environment. Lies travel fast.

"He writes for Breitbart," one masked individual told the wider crowd, who was initially puzzled why a person of color was being treated this way. Another man followed up by saying that I write for neo-Nazi site, The Daily Stormer. They said I was there to record and dox people. These lies were enough to turn an agitated crowd into an angry mob, who then encircled me.

Seattle. Nuff said.

I still don't understand why the city government is allowing this to happen, and why the people of these cities are allowing their government to allow it.

As long as they keep purchasing their Starbucks crappuccinos, Seattle will let them do whatever they want.

If this had been the KKK performing in a similar manner the S**t would have hit the fan
Why is ANTIFA a known terrorist group allowed to go armed in masks and threaten people on the street.

WHY?? Because they are supported by the liberal media and the liberal fascists.
Where is the FBI and why aren't they being inserted in this crazed group like they once were inserted in the KKK.

No some turd in here might say I am supporting the KKK, nothing is further from the truth.
I support fairness and I support the law.
Defending ANTIFA is supporting a terrorist organization.

Funny that you and the author highlight the fact that the protestors were armed with guns. Is that supposed to be a bad thing now?

BTW, despite this authors fears, nothing happened to him. He stayed as long as he wanted and then left. The police even used the logic you guys use to condemn antifa and told him that he was inciting an incident by insisting on remaining in the middle of their protest.

I refused to leave or engage. They mocked my silence, calling me a fearful coward. A police officer finally approached me after an hour of abuse. I assumed he was going to help. I was wrong.

"At some point you are inciting conflict and we’re going to take some action to remove you from the area," he said. "Do you understand that?" I told him I wasn’t leaving the public sidewalk.
Still, even though the evil antifa were armed, the guy left unscathed on his own terms.

That’s what freedom of speech looks like.

Hmmm, I see mention of them being armed, but not highlighting. And freedom of speech doesn't cover physically shoving people, nor threatening them with death. Because the police refuse to act on a crime doesn't make it less a crime.

The real point, which you missed, was that for all the screaming about tolerance, these people are so intolerant, not just of really bad people, like real Nazis, but people who simply disagree with them. Lets not confuse them screaming Nazi at people with those people actually being Nazis.

Exactly. And, I think the recent low activity on this forum is because that people are sick of the crap. And, I am sure you have seen who posts most of the crap. Who knew there was so much crap in Kool-Aid.

Instead of starting a new thread, I will put this here; as an example of what I am talking about.

I'll just offer this, the activities of the so-called AntiFa and SJWs remind me of the stories my grandfather would tell us about the rise of Fascism in Italy when he was growing up there. The family emigrated to the US in 1927 when he was 16.

He'd tell us stories of the protests and street fights between the Leftist factions, the Communists (Labor/International Socialists) and the Fascists (Corporatist/National Socialists). Just as we saw in the "Occupy" faction, there were Nihilists/Anarchists, too. The Right in those days were the supporters of the Monarchy and Church.

All of them have merged, including the Democratic Party, into one giant leftwing cluster####.

Long past time to get rid of them all.

Why mention the firearms in the article at all? What is the point if not to highlight the fact that these protesters were armed?

I didn’t see any assaults in the videos.

Hey dumbass. You chose which part you quoted thereby HIGHLIGHTING that part of the story. You could have just as easily quoted the part where the author left of his own accord unharmed, but you didn’t.

.
Because seeing protesters with firearms isn't the norm, on either side. Noting it isnt the same as highlighting it, unless you consider that everything in the article is highlighting it, I suppose. I didn't use the term assault, although I'm pretty sure boxing him in against the barricades, which you can see happening at 30 seconds in the first video and refusing to let him leave is not legal. He tries to go in all directions and they refuse to let him pass.

I note you didn't mention the death threat, however.

But again, getting down in the details that this person had done nothing, not even disagreed with them. But because someone in the mob (because this is how mobs work) accused him of things, the supposedly pro-gay, pro-minority protesters, there to decry supposed fascists who allegedly hate gays and minorities, spent 20 minutes harassing a gay asian guy. Now that's pretty funny.

The author did not mention that the 3%ers were armed. Why not?

If he wasn’t assaulted what is the problem? I don’t see anything in the video that indicates he couldn’t leave if he wanted. The facts that the police suggested he should leave and that he eventually left unharmed indicted he was not being detained by the crowd.

I did not hear any death threats, but I didn’t watch all of the videos in their entirety. If actual death threats were made the suspects should be prosecuted
