You have stated you feed the raw diet. Just curious as to why you want to find a doggie dermatologist? (raw is supposed to be the best for skin issues; amongst other things)
My vet at three notch referred me to Dr. Robert Buerger in Baltimore, to help my golden retriever with his skin allergies....only other dermo in the (reasonable) area was in Northern Virginia. I really like Dr. Buerger, he's definitely helped my boy, but he only sees clients via vet referral. His website is Veterinary Dermatology Center - Dr. Robert Buerger - Home Page.
My dogs are fed raw but not my cat. She just won't do it.

What food does your cat eat? What are her skin issues?
For the record, I am not a veterinarian but do know a little about pet foods and nutrition.
Also.....if anyone doesn't mind sharing (PM me if you want) what the average cost of just getting in the door for allergy testing is?
Not cheap - I took both of my GRs to see Dr. Buerger at the same appointment, the bill was $1,100 to determine what testing was needed. Approximately $800 of the bill was to examine and give my younger dog the test, the rest was to examine my older GR and determine he didn't need more extensive tests at this time.
Wellness kibble. I really don't want to visit my vet because most vets just want to do prescribe a steroid to mask the symptoms. I can't find a single flea but she may be exhibiting the symptoms of flea dermatitis. She's always been a heavy groomer but she is really going at her back end near the base of her tail. She has some small scabby bumps and is losing hair. I figured I'd get a referral and just cut out all the bull crap to try and figure out whats going on.
the vets office you go to I bet can do a blood allergy test which costs about 300.00 but then you have to commit to giving your cat allergy shots for the rest of his/her life are you up to committing to sticking your cat with a needle every other day at the beginning and working your way up to 1x a month if you are lucky if not then its not worth getting the testing.Also.....if anyone doesn't mind sharing (PM me if you want) what the average cost of just getting in the door for allergy testing is?

This vet is AMAZING and well worth the drive.
Assuming it hasn't already been done, I would have her thyroid checked out...a cat we had many years ago was doing the same thing and it turned out to be thyroid. We had a cream we put on his ear daily and it was never an issue again.
Maybe you should find another vet if you think the one you currently use will only prescribe steroids.
