Thanks all for the support. I was godslapped a good one. After a routine annual exam a month ago I placed her and the others on a diet. She just kept loosing weight and was becoming lethargic until 3 days ago: no appetite and really punk. Thought it might be from eating a mouse that had been poisoned. Routine lab work showed a sugar greater than 700!! Totally godslapped! Thank God for my vet of 20+ yrs (chke animal clinic, Owings) she was referred to MASH in huntingtown (another god send: had 4-5 visits over the years and they are absolutely awesome). Because she needs 24 RTC care for an insulin drip/rehydration she will be there at the vet ICU in Annapolis for 3-4 days with the hopeful prognosis that it can be readily managed after discharge. Thanks again. God bless all creatures great and small.

WOW 700! I'd say she was definately in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Luckily, we were alert to catch on to this, and that she's getting the best care. Giving Insulin Injections will get easier for you, and for her. Good luck, and please keep us posted.

Very cute!! I have 2 of them and I swear that they think they are Dobermans. They will take on my English Springer anytime. If he has a toy that they want, they gang up and take it from him.
