I have a bunch of email addresses for different purposes. I keep track of what email address is used for what account or group of people. When one email address starts getting spammed, I change all the accounts and delete the email address. And I get all my email in one account because I forward all the others to one I never give to anyone and never use to send email.Chain729 said:I have that too, but it would a nightmare to hunt down and swap all my subscriptions to gmail.
Oh yeah, I'm having problems too. But instead of getting that message, it just stops. Like, it'll go through all the bouncing from page to page to get to the inbox, you see it go through all the automatic links in the address bar, and it just picks one and stops and says it's done loading in the bottom bar. I thought it was just some hickup with Micros*** not being too compatible with a Linux browser.
That's funny, I'm just the opposite. Mostly I use one multipurpose email address. It's a hotmail account that I've had for 9 years. I report all my spam, mark it as "junk" rather than deleting it and I have very little problem with it. Once in a while I get spurts of spam, but not often. Every now and then, people I haven't talked to in years still pop in to say "hi."2ndAmendment said:I have a bunch of email addresses for different purposes. I have one friend that always gets his computer hacked and the email address stolen. I have an email address just for him.
Obviously you have never been the victim of someone who has your email address having their address book "stolen." It is not pleasant. Also, I am a member of several open source communities so some of my email addresses are posted in the open. They occasionally get grabbed by some spammer and passed/sold and those have to be changed. The more involved you are on the Internet, the more likely you are to be spammed.Dymphna said:That's funny, I'm just the opposite. Mostly I use one multipurpose email address. I have 4 email addresses right now. One for a business, one as an officer in a volunteer organization, but that email belongs to them and a Yahoo account just because I like their IM. I use that one now for registering with websites that I think are going to send me a lot of spam. The spam filter is set really high, so I see very little email there.

Hotmail is in the tweaking stage(Beta) of the new version. They won't answer your requests but did fix a problem I had only on my home PC with the copy and cut features. I have had minimal problems and will keep it.jenbengen said:One word- inconvenient. I have had this hotmail address for 8 years. Changing it would be a pain in the butt to everybody I email with.
It seems like ever since they went to hotmail "live" I have a tough time accessing their site. It often has that error message "the page cannot be displayed". Thought it was my computer, but my laptop is having trouble as well. Anybody else dealing with this?
