Any K-9 officers out there?

I have some equipment I'd like to donate to the Sherrifs department or State Police.

It's been several years since I trained patrol dogs on a regular basis. This stuff is just taking up space. I have a bite suit, two sleeves (one hard sleeve, one puppy sleeve), some tugs, tracking equipment (harnesses, leads, flags), and misc. crap.

Anyhow, I've left messages with the Leonardtown MSP barracks and the duty desk for SMCSD with no response, if anybody kows of a POC for either K-9 unit or a hard charging K-9 officers who will put the gear to use drop me a line I'd appreciate it.

Have you contacted Applejack Academy? Don't they train K-9 doggies?

Thanks for the suggestion Bresamil :yay:

But I plan on giving the equipment to an officer/department instead of somebody that plans on getting paid by the officers/departments.

Call the Sheriff's office and ask for the duty officer. Ask the Duty Officer what is the process for donating equipment. DO not talk to the dispatchers.

I donated my Search and Rescue dog to Capital Hill Police K-9 unit. He's a bomb dog now, they really appreciated it. They train at bowling afb, i'm sure you can google it and find a name

If you want to donate it in St.Mary's then I can't help you, but if you would like to donate it in Calvert, call 410-535-2800/3491 and ask to speak with Kent Gregory, may have to leave a message. Anyway, Calvert has a small training facility for K-9's that several PD's in the metro area use and I am sure they could make good use of it.

Mr. Thompson, we would like the equipment. You can contact me at (301) 475-4200x1958. I talked to our K-9 personnell at the Sheriff's Office and they said they would be able to put it to good use. My name is Bill Raddatz. Thanks.

Quick question... Is the name tombrad anything like tomkat? TIA

p.s.: I don't think that Lugnut is Hunter S. Thompson.
