What are your opinions on Tidewater Veterinary Hospital and/or St Charles Animal Hospital?

Thank you for any and all information.

Tidewater is the best. St. Charles almost killed my beagle by prescribing him meds that were not compatible. It was boldly stated on the labeling "could cause death".

I tried a couple of vets since we moved here 17 years ago.. and finally found Tidewater about 12 years ago, I have three horses, the oldest is 24 and two dogs, the oldest is 14 and our cat passed away here at our home on new years eve at 16.

I have come close to having one of the horses and a dog put down, a couple of different times due to their illnesses. But because Tidewater worked so closely formulating a treatment plan with me, we never had to go there.

We are located in Lusby which makes Charlotte Hall quite a distance which takes us 45 minutes... But in all honesty, even with the gas prices getting where they are, I gladly drive the extra miles when I need to. I do it because I know my animals are getting the best care and they are still affordable!

When our lab (now deceased) started having seizures, our vet told us what to do and what to ask for, should we need to have her seen in the middle of the night/weekends. He said to try not to go to St Charles, as their prices are very steep. He also suggested Tidewater, unless time was an important factor. Cost us $800 there after her first seizure for bloodwork and exam and instructions to take her to see our normal vet on Monday. No complaints about the care at St. Charles; just a bit pricey.

Another vote for Tidewater! Been dealing with them since 2001 and have seen every vet there at one time or another. They're all great!

My sister used Tidewater for years with her cats when she lived in Charlotte Hall and she would always talk about how wonderful they were.

St. Charles failed to diagnose my cat's hiatal hernia until we ended up at the ER for it. Not recommended.
