Yes that makes perfect sense... Keep posting to the forum here, there are lots of people on here and I am sure someone will answer the Thai food question.. I am in Charles County, not too sure about Thai food...
Anyways welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay...
And thanks for accomodating this nosey bastard...
Have a great night. Im gonna go check the weather report. It is getting very nasty here, I expect to lose power anytime now.

I have memories of people talking about thai food there, but I can't seem to recall where the place is.

Don't worry about the hurricanes, they are pretty rare up here.

I think it is my fault. I moved to somd in may 1999, then soon after Floyd came through... I moved to Virginia earlier this year, and Isabel comes through... As long as I stay put, everything is fine

Most people who move here for work don't have family here. It'll make it easier for you to meet people if you already know people. I think that makes the difference between loving it and hating it here.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will try not to get too freaked out by the move. I will miss all the good retaurants in the city, but I wont miss the rain and cost of living.

Living here aint cheap, a coworker of mine just moved here from the Seattle Area and complains about the housing costs here.

There is a Thai place in Calvert County, the best Thai place in the area that I have been to is over in Virginia though.

Seattle has more "rain days" but we get more "rain fall". We average around 40 inches a year, Seattle I think is around 37, and this year we are running about 15 inches above average.

Sorry about that chief.
No thai food for 40 miles. Not much good asian food other, unless you come by my place, there is a semi asian/filipino grocery store though. Stand by for culture shock coming from Seattle to St. Mary's!!!

Heretic, where is there a Thai place in Calvert County?

There is a good Thai place in LaPlata. It's right on 301 just south of the mall. If you were coming from the mall, it would be on the left hand side. It's called Suporn's. I thought it was very good. They had a full menu.

I think there's at least one other one in the Waldorf area, but I don't know much about it.

It's okay Thai food at Suporn's not great. But what can you expect from a Thai restaurant run by a Chinese couple?! :ohwell:
