Bet on the Ponies
Where do you go? I used to join my sister up at Rosecroft once in awhile when she was racing her horses there. Actually, she has two going off up there this Friday night. They have lots of simulcast screens, too. I enjoyed it a lot but it was scary going to that place by myself, even if I was joining someone there - NOT a nice area. I did learn NOT to bet on her horses in order to give them a chance to win. :lmao:

Her hubby is big into off-track betting. He goes to parlors in Cambridge and Delaware at least once or twice a week. He'd probably LIVE there if sis allowed it. They've been racing at Ocean Downs outside of Ocean City lately and I know they have off-track betting there, too. I haven't been there in quite awhile, but now that Bally's has bought it, she says it's much nicer.

Semi-locally, Colonial Downs, Pimlico, Rosecroft, Laurel. Alos have been to the Meadowlands, and Momouth Park in NJ.

There is an off-site betting place in Colonial Beach, that I really enjoy (especially for the Derby, Preakness, etc.) I don't believe they have re-opened yet after being ripped-up during Isabel?

Sis occasionally races at the Meadowlands. I've been by it several times, but never IN it. Been to Pimlico and Laurel once each. Monmouth - isn't that near Asbury Park? My grandmom lived in Long Branch, so I may have gone there as a kid but I don't remember. I've been to Timonium once when I went to the State Fair but had a very bad experience there and never went back.

I really like Colonial Beach, but I haven't been over there since Isabel went through. I know where you're talking about (Riverboat something?) and I think you're correct. It's the one that stuck out into the waterway so the bar was actually in Maryland and in Charles County's jurisdiction. I went in there once. VERY interesting place.

The owner was fighting hard to get it rebuilt late last year, but he had LOTS of opposition from the townfolks. I'll have to call a friend who lives in the area and see if it's open again.

you guys ever try betting the ponies online?
Haven't.

It appears you can bet on about anything online. How do they handle the money transactions.
