Anyone else here love corn meal mush?

I've had a hard time finding anyone here in SOMD that even knows what it is. Most say "do you mean scrapple?"

Not the pudding, but the solid stuff.

It must be somewhat popular here because both of our grocery stores sell it. Its sold here in a 1lb tube like sausage....

I love it. Short of the tubes of polenta in the Italian section, you won't find it down here.

I have never heard of it fried like this before. Looks to be the same basic recipe, but put in the oven for 45 minutes.

I love fried grits and fried polenta, would be happy to give this a try!

I have never tried fried cornmeal mush, but it sounds like something I might like. Might give it a try soon.

We made oatmeal mush and cornmeal mush back on the farm. Love it. Never had any that came from a grocery store though...never really looked for it.
Always fried in some bacon grease and honey slathered on top.
