anyone else's metrocrap out?

I am on hold with the idiots now but that could take FOREVER! Just wonder if anyone else is out or it is just here.... I am off Willow's Rd.

ok while I am waiting for the genius to figure out if there is an outage anwhere. This was AFTER I told her my cable was out and she asked me if I ment that I am not getting any channels......UMMMMM DUH! HOLY CRAP! She just got back on the phone and there are no reports of outages but they are gonna have someone out here TODAY! How did that happen???

Hey... while you are hold you may want to double check yourself... I remember the time nomo called them biatching and complaining that her cable was out and the tech guy had to come over and it the TV/VCR button on her VCR to make the channels work again. :bubble:

give it up kwillia, that only happened to me 4 times - it's not that big of deal :duh:

LOL! No the guy just left. He had NO CLUE what was wrong. everything was fine but yet no cable....... so he unplugged it and it worked. Which would not be SO weird if it was not on BOTH tv's..... but anyway the crap works now....UGH! I hate Metrocrap!

Better than satilite though. one tiny cloud and poof no TV.

Please elaborate on that, I'm getting ready to dump Comcast for DirectTV.

Mine goes out only when a major storm hits and it is mostly just the higher number channels. It never stays out for more than 15 minutes. That outweighs having the crappy Metrocrap anytime. :yay:

It takes a very heavy cloud layer to knock mine out, like you'd have in a big t-storm. Mine normally gets turned off then anyway. It's usually out for not longer than a few minutes. Compare that to a cable being down and it would take years to make up the difference.

:yeahthat: It just has bad timing like going out midway through the season premiere of "Desperate Housewives" when heavy rain came through. :tantrum But it was only out about 10 minutes or so. When I had cable over in Calvert, a rain storm would take it out of hours if not DAYS. :ohwell:

How do you think the cable company gets their channels? The main facility that distributes the channels has a satellite to pick up the channels. Granted it is a different kind of receiver than Direct TV uses. A big enough storm can still nock out your digital channels until it passes.

I was having internet problems last week. Called and spoke with a internet tech blahblah, they couldn't find a problem. Had to call the main # to have a tech come out and see what was up. Called first thing monday morning. Someone answered the phone right away and sure enough, had a tech out fixing my problem at 1:30 THAT afternoon :faint:

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Metrocast...:yahoo: I e-mailed them on Monday detailing my reception concerns. A very polite woman called me that evening and said she'd like to schedule a time when the technician can come out. We scheduled it for today.

Well...

He arrived on time. Fixed a defective part in the cable line. Changed all the hardware connections under the house and did a couple other things under there so now my cable internet is smokin' and ALL of my channels are clear as can be! He was here for over an hour and as I walked him to the door I asked him what the charge was and he said, "No charge."

I am estatic...:yahoo:

I have zero-zip-nada thing to complain about. I am now wondering if all of the folks complaining about their Metrocast service have asked someone to come fix the problem(s)...:shrug:

I don't have any issues now, but several weeks ago day was on the phone with them at least twice a week, trying to correct the problem(s) we had. And it wasn't the first time this had happened.

Oh, and one technician (many, many months ago) dropped off some things for us to "install" ourselves. :lol:

Yes I have. They have been here about 6-8 times in the past year.........
