Anyone ever use the kayak launch near RT 243 by the winery in leonardtown ?

We tried to use it Sunday but looked very shallow.. So we put in in Leonardtown at the warf and tried to go in the back way and it was still too shallow.

Sure have, a couple of times. last fall, I think. Water level is very dependent upon rainfall up there, and we haven't had a lot. while I have you8, is it as it appears, and what used to be a 20-30 foot portage is now a lot longer?

Yeh, Now that you mention it, It does seem to be a long walk. But a very nice "Port"... If there was any water..

Leonardtown Warf is nice but that strip af grass in front of the launch dock is a mud pit.

Yeeah, though so, heres what it used to look like, why they couldnt have left a small area for drop off, I dont know. And concur on the mudpit, someone wasn't thinking.

I kayak and canoe from there all the time. If you go during low tide, you will drag your boat a lot. If you go during high tide you will be fine.
