Very nice shot. What method of capturing water drops are you using? Any special equipment, like sound sensors to trigger shutter? How did you get your colors....lighting, colored water, backgrounds??

Thanks

I have a Canon S3 IS--which as I understand-I am not supposed to be able to do this with but....... I did. My set up is my kitchen sink, my camera and my choice of colored vessel, plastic etc. I have seen people use a colored towell for a background and a soda bottle with a hole punched in it -strung from a ladder, tripods, remote fire buttons, soft boxes and lamps--very ellaborate, but for me--sometimes I use supermacro--sometimes I set the ISO to High --successive shots -- find a good depth and start firing away-I use my strap and pull down on the camera to steady it. Nothing fancy --you do need large cards to do this---lots of shots--few are keepers--

This shot was done with an antique gold glass candy dish which is a foot high and the bottom of a tupperware cake tote (yes --primitive but it works!) I filled the dish with water then set the fawcett to drip--slightly fast but not a continuous stream. It's taken me several sessions but each time I try--it gets easier and the shots are better.....I just enjoy the challenge!

 Good on you for experimenting. I would suggest that you take the next step up in equipment, because you could have more flexibility and control, but you seem to be doing fine with what you have. :yay:

Oh I'd love to take the "next step"--the next step takes the big $$....I will do it though. The victory is much sweeter!

I haven't experimented with drop shots yet ... but it looks like you are off to a great start!

Thanks!--one word of advice I got from a UK photog--'take a wee first!--it is soo frustrating to be in the middle of a good shoot and have to pee" and trust me---with all that water--he was right!
