Anyone in the Charlotte Hall area? I was wondering if there is an area wide time to trick or treat here. Where we've lived before there was a countywide, or areawide, usually by zipcode, time table for the kids to be out.

As a newbie this year, I was wondering when I should be ready for the little monsters. Any help whould be appreciated. I'm on the Charles side of Charlotte Hall, off Oaks, not far from 5.

And I've tried the neighbors I know, they aren't home. Thanks!

When you start seeing little people dressed up funny, it is time.
:yeahthat: I dont think there is any set time. Some start before it's even dark... some will still be trick or treating when you are ready to put jammies on.

Whenever you want. Why would you wait for "permission"? I used to make the kids eat dinner and do homework first. Then haul patootie.

I get off work at 5. I always see kids out when I leave work. I'm guessing around 430 to 5 is when the fitr people start going out.

Where we've lived in the past 6 years, there was a set time: 5:30-7:30. So everyone knew to watch out for the kids. The little ones would be amassed all in a group, and it would be over before prime time...with the kids in bed for school.

Worked great. Left the evening for the Adults to relax, and steal any candy they wanted.

6-8 p.m. is the standard time, at least that's what I've always known it to be.

In my hood it starts at 6 and stops by 8. There are a few late folks but I'm normally out of candy by then.

Thanks so much! I just want to be ready...As I don't have any kiddies, it's hard to know these things sometimes. My evening starts much later.

You could just leave the candy on the front step and then go on your way :elaine:

That takes all the fun out of it. I have a very long drive, so I'll have a chair down by the road. Should be a good night for it! :lmao:

Then the first kid that comes along will take the entire bowl. You are better of not puting any candy out than leaving a bowl outside your door.

If your driveway's that long, then ToT will start at your house whenever you get yourself in the chair.

Seriously though, setting ToT times are for control freak HOAs and city folk. Out here in the boonies, we start at dark, but the smart ones make sure to wait until people are home from work. And we end when Moms and Dads tell the kids to get their backside in the house and/or when everyone turns off the porch light.
