Anyone Other Parents Hear About This...

Hi All,

My 5th grader informed me today that she and her classmates were told by the school counselor that they ALL would attend Margaret Brent next year instead of Leonardtown. Apparently, if you are interested in your child attending Leonardtown you will need to put in a special request. Since when and why all of a sudden after all of these years would they make that change? Perhaps, it has something to do with Margarent Brent getting a renovation and possibly being able to allow more students to attend there?

There's been a lot of information in the papers. LMS is overcrowded by about 200 seats. Those seats are available at MBMS. If you live in an area that will be Chopticon school district for high school, they are sending your child to MBMS.

MBMS is a pretty good school. I've have had a great deal of contact with the administration this year. :ohwell:

My son gets straight A's on all his tested material; yet, he can never turn in his homework. Somehow, between the the night before and the next day, he misplaces it and 1/2 his grade in many of his classes are based on homework. All of that is besides the point, but you really don't know how good a school really is until you've had to stomp in there a few times for meetings. Apparently this issue is very common for boys.

I would have failed school if I didn't have homework factored into my grade.

Ok, maybe not failed but wouldn't have done so well! It is so hard to teach organizational skills to children who have no interest.

Thanks, somebody has been working since 7:30 on make-up assignments. Right now, I have his new shoes and once he shows me his make-up work, than he'll get them.
