Like this? It's like a strange knot that just appeared on my sons neck today. Hard not soft. Doesn't appear to itch or bother him

Oh I am we have an appointment at 2:00 !!

I was only asking to see if anyone might have seen anything like it?

My oldest used to get these and freak me out. But it was always his lymph nodes fighting off something big when ever I rushed him to the dr's. (He's hardly ever sick so I guess they work awesome ).

:yeahthat:

but my thought would be an enlarged lymph node.

That's what my concern was, the location of the swelling. When his teacher called me she made it sound as if it's a bite, but there doesn't appear to be any "signs" that it's a bite.

I hope it's just a bite, but my son had lymphandenitis when he was 2. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks. It looked very much like that. :huggy:

Hopefully I am wrong this time.

It could be someething or it could be nothing.... you did the right thing by getting him checked out TODAY. Hope all is well!

Bet you never ask random strangers on the internet for medical advice ever again.

I can't believe I had to get HIPAA certification for my job and the internet is full of people that volunteer medical information, all the time.

I don't see where she was asking for advice. By the time she started this thread she already had made a 2 p.m. appointment for him and got him down for his nap. I see it more as a mother who is concerned but not overly hysterical. A mother who is wondering if this is something that any of us have dealt with before. That makes sense to me because if we did maybe we could give her some things to think about and ask about when she does see the doctor.
